Polyaspartic is faster, colder and more UV-stable. It is not always the right call.
Polyaspartic is an aliphatic polyurea. It cures far faster than epoxy, goes down at lower temperatures and does not yellow in sunlight. It is also less forgiving to install and costs more per litre.
Straight comparison
Where each chemistry wins.
Plenty of installers sell one system as universally better. It is not that simple, and the honest comparison is short.

Which is why most good garage floors are hybrids
Epoxy primer and pigmented base for build, adhesion and cost, then a polyaspartic clear on top for speed, UV stability and abrasion resistance. You get the strengths of both and pay for the expensive material only where it earns its place.
The Vaughan angle
It extends the season, it does not abolish it.
The main practical reason polyaspartic matters here is the calendar. An unheated garage in Vaughan spends roughly five months below the temperature at which standard epoxy behaves properly. Polyaspartic pushes that window open considerably.
It does not remove the rules. The slab still has to be above the dew point or moisture condenses on the surface and ruins adhesion. Material still has to be conditioned. Below the product's stated minimum, the answer is still no.
Where it earns its cost
- A garage you need back fast. Foot traffic the next day instead of several.
- Sun exposure. A floor near a large window, a glass overhead door, or an exterior landing.
- Winter scheduling. Work that would otherwise wait until April.
- Commercial downtime. An overnight turnaround on a moderate area is genuinely possible.
Where it does not
- A rough slab needing build. Epoxy fills and levels far more economically.
- A tight budget with no deadline. Paying for cure speed you are not using.
- A dark interior room. No sunlight means no UV benefit to buy.
