Polyaspartic coatings in Maple

A one-day floor is a preparation promise as much as a coating promise. Polyaspartic cures fast enough to make a single day possible, but whether it is possible on your floor comes down to how many hours the grinding takes. The subdivisions around Major Mackenzie are where that arithmetic usually works, because sound concrete needs one pass where a damaged slab needs three.

Where the numbers do not support a single day, we will say so at quoting rather than run out of daylight in your driveway.

Tell us about the timing.

The date you need the space back matters as much as the size. Both decide whether a single-day build is the right call.

A car count or a square-foot figure.

Build year, anything already on the floor, and the day you need it usable.

Single-day sequence

What our polyaspartic coating process looks like in Maple

The whole thing turns on one calculation done before a date is offered: how many hours of preparation this specific slab needs, and whether the remaining daylight can carry the coats.

  1. Count the grinding hours

Floor area, slab hardness and whatever is already on the concrete convert into a number of machine hours. That number, not the size of the room, is what decides whether a single day is honest.

  2. Pick the chemistry to fit the day

Full polyaspartic, or an epoxy base under a polyaspartic topcoat. The second is slower but cheaper and frequently the better buy, and on a Maple slab there is often room in the day for either.

  3. Crew sized to the pot life

The material goes off fast, so the floor area sets how many people are on site. Under-crewing a fast-cure install is how lap marks and cold joints get left in a floor that will show them forever.

  4. Walk it before we leave

The floor gets checked with you at the end of the same day it started, with the return-to-use dates written down rather than promised at the door.

There is a temptation, when the whole job has to land inside one day, to take the hours out of the part nobody sees. That is the one part where they cannot come from. A floor that failed early almost always tells the same story about how its first two hours were spent.

This is a topcoat, not a type of room, so it appears inside most of the builds listed here. The room decides the system; the calendar decides the chemistry on top of it.

Why us

Why choose us for polyaspartic coatings in Maple

Three things decide whether fast-cure is worth paying for, and the third is the one most installers will not raise.

  • Honest arithmetic

The day is won in preparation

A single-day install is not a product you buy, it is an outcome that either fits in the hours or does not. We work that out from the slab before offering a date, which is why the ones we book generally finish on time. Sound Maple concrete is the reason the answer is usually yes here.

  • Hybrid builds

    Epoxy base, polyaspartic top

The base coat does not need to cure fast, only the layer you walk on. Putting a cheaper epoxy underneath a polyaspartic topcoat keeps the fast return to service and the colour stability while cutting the material cost, and on a great many floors it is simply the better purchase.

  • Knowing when not to

    Sometimes the slower floor wins

With no schedule pressure and no daylight reaching the floor, straight epoxy delivers a comparable result for less money. Where that describes your floor we will price both and tell you which we would choose, because selling the faster option to someone who does not need speed is just a larger invoice.

Questions we actually get

Maple polyaspartic questions.

Why is a single-day install more realistic in Maple than elsewhere?
Because preparation is the variable, and the slabs here need less of it. A sound, undamaged floor generally needs one grinding pass and minimal repair, which leaves enough of the day for the coats to go down inside their recoat windows. On a heavily damaged slab, removal alone can consume the working day before any coating starts.
What exactly is a hybrid build?
An epoxy base coat with a polyaspartic clear over it. You keep the fast return to service and the colour stability, since both come from the topcoat, while the bulk of the material underneath is the cheaper product. For most residential floors it is the best value in the range, and it is what we quote unless there is a reason not to.
Is a full polyaspartic build worth the extra?
Where the slab is cold, where the schedule is genuinely tight, or where the floor takes direct sun all day, yes. Outside those cases the hybrid gets you most of the benefit for less. The quote will show both so the difference is a decision you make rather than one made for you.
Can you do a Saturday?
Weekends are normal for this work, and for a household with the garage full of everything that usually lives in it, they are often easier. Booking is the constraint rather than the material: weekend slots go first, so a few weeks of notice makes a real difference to which date you get.
We have a dog. When is it safe for paws?
Treat it the same as foot traffic, which for a fast-cure build is usually the following day. The caution is claws rather than chemistry. A fully cured floor handles them without trouble, but a floor still hardening can pick up marks that do not come out, so the last thing to do is let the dog back early because it looks finished.
What happens if it rains on the day you are booked?
For an enclosed garage or a basement, very little, since the work is inside and the slab is dry. What rain does affect is humidity and dew point, both of which influence cure, and an apron or any exterior concrete comes off the schedule entirely. If conditions put the finish at risk we move the date rather than install into them.
