What the slabs are like here
Concrete from that era was frequently poured without a vapour barrier underneath. Ground moisture then moves up through the slab, and if a coating traps it, the coating lifts. This is the single most common reason floor coatings fail in older Thornhill homes, and it has nothing to do with the product used.
We test for moisture before quoting rather than after. Where readings are high, the honest answer is either a moisture-tolerant primer system or, occasionally, that a coating is the wrong solution for that slab.
